Modern Yarns was first created in 2018 by Safia Hatton-Smith, an independent designer.
M.Y. has reached all corners of the world with our pieces and patterns, including, South Africa, America, U.K, Germany, France, Brazil, Australia, and many more to come.
M.Y. aims to bring creativity, sustainability, and empowerment to all that choose to embrace slow fashion by purchasing an M.Y. piece or recreating their own with our patterns.
10% of all profits go to charity and this quarter our chosen charity is RSPCA where we are crocheting and donating for our furry friends.
I have ordered and been gifted many products by modern yarns designs. My name is Safia 👋🏼 I have been crocheting since 2018, when I moved to Germany.
I focus on creating crochet apparel and accessories.
I have a diploma in Fashion and Textiles design and an extended diploma in Crochet! 📜
My focus is to create modern, wearable and innovative fashion, whilst spreading the awareness of slow fashion (and how pretty it is!) 🌍
